Gunmen abduct 3 INEC officials in Taraba

Unknown gunmen have abducted three ad-hoc staff of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, in Donga local government area of Taraba State.

The State Coordinator of the Electoral Operations Support Centre, EOSC, Taraba INEC, confirmed the development to newsmen on Sunday.

According to him, the centre received a report of the incident from its Electoral Officer in the Donga Local Government Area.

The EOSC said they were kidnapped in the late hours of Saturday, during the 2023 Presidential and National Assembly elections.

However, the spokesperson of the State Police Command, SP Usman Abdullahi, said the Command was yet to receive a report on the incident.
