The Director-General of the Public Service Staff Development Centre, Adekunmilola Adio-Moses, has emphasized the need for enhanced collaboration in capacity building for the public service. He highlighted the importance of raising awareness about traffic laws and the integrated inter-modal transport system. Adio-Moses made this statement during a courtesy visit to Lagos Traffic Radio 96.1FM, which he described as the most outstanding radio station in Nigeria for its excellent service delivery.
In response, Tayo Akanle, the General Manager of Lagos Traffic Radio, expressed gratitude to the PSSDC for recognizing the station’s achievements and its positive impact on listeners. He pointed out that the station’s remarkable accomplishments stem from its consistent service delivery, which has established a standard among its peers in Nigeria. Akanle noted that the station’s daily listenership has surged from 800,000 in 2018 to approximately 2,000,000 today. Additionally, he mentioned significant growth in the station’s social media presence across platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
Akanle further stated that the station has positively added value to the lives of Lagosians by helping them spend less time in traffic. This has been achieved through the timely delivery of travel advisories concerning roads, waterways, and railways. He also highlighted the station’s partnership with the Nigeria Railway Corporation, which provides daily updates for train passengers, particularly before the launch of the Lagos Blue Rail.
