BBNaija S10: Zita and Mide’s Kitchen Clash Over Chores Escalates, Danboskid Intervenes

Tensions flared Thursday morning in the Big Brother Naija Season 10 house as housemates Zita and Mide engaged in a heated argument over kitchen duties, escalating into physicality and drawing intervention from fellow contestants. The dispute, centered on food preparation tasks, highlights the high-pressure environment of the popular reality television series, where participants live together under constant surveillance while competing for viewer favor.

According to Mide, the conflict began when she requested Zita’s assistance with cutting carrots. She alleged Zita responded with refusal and profanity. “I said, ‘Please come help me cut carrots,’ and Zita said she is not cutting anything—she asked me to fuck off,” Mide stated. The exchange reportedly intensified when Zita allegedly struck Mide with a cooking pot. Zita countered this claim, asserting she had used the pot to remove a knife from Mide’s hand. “I only used the pot to take the fucking knife off her hand,” she explained, emphasizing her version of events as defensive rather than aggressive.

The altercation prompted Zita’s romantic interest in the house, Danboskid, to step in and de-escalate the situation. His attempt to calm Zita, however, sparked a separate clash between him and Mide after he publicly sided with Zita. Danboskid accused Mide of instigating the dispute, a claim that further fueled tensions. Other housemates eventually mediated to prevent the conflicts from worsening.

Footage of the incident, shared on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), has drawn widespread attention, with viewers dissecting the confrontation and debating accountability. The video captures raised voices, gestures, and the rapid involvement of multiple housemates, underscoring the volatile dynamics within the shared living space.

While clashes over chores are not uncommon in reality TV environments, this incident underscores the stress of communal living under competitive pressures. Big Brother Naija, now in its seventh year, regularly features disputes among contestants, but physical altercations remain rare, heightening scrutiny of the show’s duty of care protocols. Producers have not yet commented on whether the incident will influence upcoming eliminations or house rules.
