Bola Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, has emerged victorious in the presidential election in Zamfara State. He garnered a total of 298,396 votes, securing a significant win in the state. The results were announced by the collation officer for the Zamfara State presidential election, Prof. Kashim Shehu, in Gusau, the state capital, during the early hours of Tuesday.

In the election, Tinubu triumphed in 12 out of the 14 local government areas within Zamfara, while his main opponent, Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party, won in two local government areas. Atiku received 193,978 votes, while Rabiu Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria Peoples Party obtained 4,044 votes. Peter Obi of the Labour Party secured 1,660 votes.

Prof. Shehu also reported that votes in 167 polling units were canceled due to issues such as over-voting, insecurity, and disruptions caused by thugs. The total number of registered voters in Zamfara State was 1,879,308, with 527,137 individuals accredited to participate in the election. Ultimately, a total of 502,923 valid votes were recorded, alongside 16,508 invalid votes, resulting in a total of 519,431 votes cast.
