PDP Zones Presidential Ticket to South

Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State has expressed satisfaction with the Peoples Democratic Party’s decision to zone its presidential ticket to the South. As Chairman of the PDP Governors Forum, Mohammed played a role in the decision-making process regarding the zoning. He stated that he had put aside his personal ambition to allow the party to zone its presidential ticket to the South, promoting unity and understanding within the party.

The governor’s remarks came during a press conference, where he discussed the party’s resolution to sustain its existing zoning formula in party offices and to zone the presidential office to the South. Mohammed emphasized that this decision was made to promote sanity, understanding, and unity within the party. He noted that the decision was an all-inclusive one, made during the party’s National Executive Council meeting in Ibadan, Oyo State.

Mohammed urged Nigerians to recognize that politics should prioritize national development and party decisions over personal interests. He emphasized the importance of sacrifice and respect for one another, stating that power comes from God. The governor reassured that the PDP governors, National Working Committee, and Board of Trustees are committed to working together to make the party appealing to Nigerians, providing a platform for individuals to actualize their aspirations.

The PDP’s decision to zone its presidential ticket to the South is seen as a strategic move to promote unity and understanding within the party. By putting aside personal ambitions and prioritizing the party’s interests, Governor Mohammed and other party leaders aim to strengthen the PDP’s position in the upcoming elections. As the party continues to work towards its goals, it remains to be seen how this decision will impact its chances of success in the future.
