Hilda Baci attempts world record with massive jollof cook

Hilda Baci, a former Guinness World Record holder for marathon cooking, is set to attempt a new record for the largest jollof pot. On September 12, 2025, she plans to cook 250 bags of basmati rice in a massive 22,619-liter pot, measuring 6 meters wide, 6 meters long, 1.1 meters tall, and 1.3 meters deep. The event aims to feed approximately 10,000 people.

Baci announced her plan in a video shared on her Instagram page, where she outlined the scale of the project. She explained that she has made the “executive decision” to use 250 bags of basmati rice for the record attempt. The massive pot, which Baci is confident will not sink, will be used to cook the large quantity of rice.

This attempt comes two years after Baci set the record for the longest cooking marathon by an individual, cooking for 93 hours and 11 minutes. Her upcoming event is expected to draw significant attention, given the massive scale of the cooking operation.

The record attempt is scheduled to take place on September 12, 2025. Baci’s team is likely to face significant logistical challenges in preparing for the event, including sourcing the large quantity of ingredients and ensuring the massive pot is safely and effectively used.

As a former record holder, Baci is no stranger to high-profile cooking events. Her previous record attempt demonstrated her endurance and cooking skills, and this new attempt is expected to push her to new limits. The success of the event will depend on meticulous planning and execution, but if successful, it will be a significant achievement for Baci and her team.

The event is expected to draw a large crowd, and the fact that it aims to feed 10,000 people highlights the significance of the record attempt. Baci’s dedication to her craft and her willingness to push boundaries are likely to inspire others, and her upcoming record attempt will be closely watched by food enthusiasts and fans of competitive cooking alike.
