Victor Osimhen, the in-form Napoli striker, has become a key target for Manchester United manager Erik Ten Hag as the club prepares to strengthen its squad during the summer transfer window. According to the Daily Mail, United aims to make at least two significant signings to build on their current momentum under Ten Hag. The primary focus will be on acquiring a center forward and additional midfield reinforcements. Additionally, if captain Harry Maguire departs, a center-back may also be needed.

United recently ended a six-year trophy drought by defeating Newcastle United 2-0 to win the Carabao Cup at Wembley. Ten Hag’s team remains competitive in the Premier League, FA Cup, and UEFA Europa League this season. However, plans are already underway for further squad enhancements in the upcoming summer, as reported by the Manchester Evening News. United is interested in both Osimhen and Tottenham’s Harry Kane, while Ten Hag has expressed admiration for Benfica and Portugal striker Goncalo Ramos. Furthermore, he believes that Mohammed Kudus, currently playing for his former club Ajax, has the potential to succeed in the Premier League.

In midfield, Ten Hag may renew his pursuit of Barcelona’s Frenkie de Jong, a player he was eager to sign last summer. Given Barcelona’s need to sell players to address their financial challenges, a second attempt to acquire the Netherlands international could be fruitful. The United manager is also said to support a move for Borussia Dortmund and England midfielder Jude Bellingham, although the club would face significant competition from Liverpool and other interested parties.

It is important to note that any incoming transfers will depend on player sales to ensure compliance with UEFA’s financial sustainability regulations. Among those United plans to sell are Maguire, defender Alex Telles—currently on loan at Sevilla—and injury-prone forward Anthony Martial.
