The Kano State chapter of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) has expelled Abdulmumin Jibrin Kofa, a member of the House of Representatives, citing anti‑party activities and unpaid financial obligations. Party state chairman Hashim Sulaiman Dungurawa announced the decision at a press briefing in Kano on Saturday, explaining that Jibrin’s repeated public criticisms of the party and its leadership were deemed detrimental to its interests.
Dungurawa described Jibrin as a politician whose electoral success owes more to the Kwankwasiyya movement and the NNPP platform than to his own personal strength. He noted that Jibrin could not win an election under the All Progressives Congress, but succeeded after joining the NNPP through the Kwankwasiyya movement.
