Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue State has announced a series of appointments to key offices and statutory boards, effective immediately. The move is aimed at bolstering governance structures and driving sustainable development in the state. According to a statement issued by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Tersoo Kula, the appointments cover various strategic positions.
Linda Ene Agada has been appointed Special Adviser on Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and Microfinance, while Hon. James Tor will serve as Special Adviser on Politics, Mobilisation, and Special Duties. Dr. Shadrach Teryila Ukuma has been named Director‑General of Arts, Culture, and Tourism, and Tivlumun Bulya will act as Personal Assistant on Benue State House of Assembly matters.
The Benue State Pension Commission has also received new members. Mbajwa Zungwega Nicholas is appointed Chairman, with Umaja A. Alloysius and Asen Sambe as members. Additional members include the Special Adviser on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, the Commissioner for Finance, the Chairman of the Local Government Service Commission, the Head of Service, and the Director‑General of the Benue State Planning Commission.
Chief Elizabeth Shuluwa has been appointed Chairman of the Benue Investment and Property Company. Andrew Aondofa Chila, Ashi Iortyom Donald, and John Ochonye Oyishoma will serve as members, joined by the Commissioner for Trade and Industry and the Commissioner for Justice and Attorney‑General of the State.
The Benue Internal Revenue Service has added Ande Clement Shianti, Anyam Terzungwe Jeremiah, and Elizabeth Onekele as members, alongside representatives from the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Agriculture.
Governor Alia congratulated the appointees, urging them to bring their experience, commitment, and professionalism to their new roles. The appointments are expected to strengthen the state’s governance and drive development in key sectors, enhancing the government’s capacity to deliver effective services and promote economic growth.
