A prominent Nigerian politician, Buba Galadima, has expressed concern over an alleged plan by President Bola Tinubu to appoint a retired judge as the next Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). Galadima, a chieftain of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), stated that the nominee, a recently retired Court of Appeal judge, has a track record of judicial bias and “notoriety.” He warned that this appointment could lead to political instability in the country.
