As Vice Chairman for Africa at the Tropical General Investment (TGI) Group, Gumel has played a significant part in Nigeria’s efforts toward food sufficiency. President Tinubu expressed confidence that Gumel will excel in his new position and further strengthen Nigeria’s reputation for excellence in global finance.
Tobi Amusan, Nigeria’s track‑and‑field athlete, won a silver medal in the women’s 100 m hurdles at the 2025 World Athletics Championships in Tokyo, posting an impressive time of 12.29 seconds in the final. The 28‑year‑old’s achievement was lauded by President Tinubu, who highlighted her relentless pursuit of excellence and described her victory as a source of national pride, demonstrating what can be attained through hard work, determination, and patriotic fervor.
