The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has embarked on a mission to Saudi Arabia to finalize service agreements for the 2026 Hajj pilgrimage. Led by Chairman Prof. Abdullahi Usman, the delegation includes commissioners and the commission’s Secretary. This trip forms part of the preparations outlined in the operational calendar released by the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah (MoHU).

The Saudi authorities have set specific deadlines for various aspects of Hajj preparations. From September 6 to September 23, early contracting and payment for Mashair (camps) must be completed. The deadlines for contracting essential services such as transportation and accommodation are September 23 and 24. Additionally, October 12 is the final date for announcing pilgrims’ registration and submitting data for grouping via the Nusuk platform.

In line with these timelines, NAHCON has established October 8 as the cut‑off date for State Muslim Pilgrims’ Welfare Boards, agencies, commissions, and licensed Hajj tour operators to remit Hajj fares for the 2026 pilgrimage. This ensures that all stakeholders meet the Saudi authorities’ deadlines, helping to guarantee a smooth and successful Hajj experience for Nigerian pilgrims.

The Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah’s operational calendar serves as a guide for NAHCON’s preparations, emphasizing the importance of timely planning and coordination. By adhering to this calendar, the commission can secure all necessary arrangements, allowing Nigerian pilgrims to enjoy a seamless and spiritually fulfilling experience during the 2026 Hajj.

NAHCON’s efforts to conclude service agreements and meet the set deadlines demonstrate its commitment to providing a well‑organized and successful pilgrimage. As the 2026 Hajj approaches, the commission’s preparations will be closely monitored to ensure that every aspect of the journey—from transportation to accommodation—is meticulously planned and executed.
