2027: Your one-term prophecy laughable – APC mocks ADC

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State has dismissed the African Democratic Congress’s (ADC) claim that President Bola Tinubu will serve only one term. APC Lagos spokesman Seye Oladejo called the ADC’s statement “laughable” and “idle talk” from a party that has never held national power, accusing it of trying to write “imaginary scripts” about Tinubu’s tenure.

Oladejo emphasized that President Tinubu has just begun implementing policies aimed at resetting Nigeria’s path toward sustainable growth and progress. He pointed to recent by‑election results, in which the APC secured overwhelming victories, as evidence of the government’s popularity and a de facto referendum on Tinubu’s leadership. According to Oladejo, these wins demonstrate the ADC’s limited chances of success at the polls.

The ADC had previously asserted that Tinubu’s mandate would end in 2027 and that Nigerians would not support his continued presidency beyond that point. In contrast, the APC remains confident in Tinubu’s ability to lead the country, citing his political experience and track record of service.

The exchange between the two parties reflects Nigeria’s dynamic political landscape, where various groups vie for position and influence. As the nation confronts political and economic challenges, the APC’s response underscores its commitment to supporting the President’s agenda and its confidence in his capacity to drive economic growth and development. The recent by‑election victories are being interpreted as a significant indicator of the APC’s popularity, a vote of confidence in Tinubu’s leadership, and a testament to the party’s strength at the national level.
