The Kebbi State Police Command has issued a ban on all forms of celebrations and rallies by political party supporters, regardless of whether their parties won or lost in the recent elections. This announcement was made by the command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Nafi’u Abubakar, in a statement released to the News Agency of Nigeria in Birnin Kebbi on Wednesday.

Abubakar stated, “The Kebbi State Police Command wishes to inform members of the public that all forms of celebrations and rallies by political party supporters for or against the winners or losers in respect of the just concluded Presidential and National Assembly elections have been banned with immediate effect in the state.” He emphasized that any deliberate attempt to violate this ban or to incite a breakdown of law and order by any group, under any pretext, will not be tolerated.

To enforce this ban, security agents have been deployed across the state, and they have been directed to ensure compliance. Abubakar warned the public to refrain from any actions that could disrupt the peace currently enjoyed in Kebbi State. He assured that the police command, in collaboration with relevant security agencies, is fully prepared to address any violations decisively in accordance with the law.

Furthermore, the Commissioner of Police in the state, CP Ahmed Magaji Kontogara, expressed his commitment to maintaining public safety. He reassured the people of Kebbi State that the command will remain steadfast in fulfilling its constitutional responsibilities. “Officers and men of the command are always ready to ensure public security and safety, allowing citizens to conduct their lawful activities without fear or harassment,” he affirmed.
