Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani formally signed the state’s Mutual Accountability Framework, known as KaMAF, in partnership with the Gates Foundation. The signing ceremony took place on the sidelines of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York. Governor Sani described the agreement as a significant milestone in Kaduna’s development journey, emphasizing that its successful implementation will positively affect the lives of the state’s citizens.
The framework is a strategic engagement aimed at bolstering primary healthcare, enhancing maternal and child health, and promoting sustainable practices in agriculture to boost productivity and improve market access. It seeks to strengthen data systems, ensure a transparent budgeting process, and support informed decision‑making, monitoring, and evaluation.
In addition, the partnership will focus on enhancing financial and digital inclusion, with particular emphasis on women’s resilience. By advancing these initiatives, the collaboration aspires to improve health outcomes, food security, and economic inclusion throughout Kaduna State.
The Gates Foundation’s involvement underscores its commitment to building robust healthcare systems, increasing agricultural productivity, and fostering economic inclusion in regions that need it most. Together, Kaduna State and the Gates Foundation aim to create lasting, positive change for the state’s population.
As the partnership progresses, it is expected to yield tangible results that improve the quality of life for Kaduna’s citizens. The successful implementation of the Mutual Accountability Framework could serve as a model for future development initiatives, demonstrating how strategic partnerships can drive meaningful, transparent, and sustainable change.
