The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Niger State, Nigeria, has elected a new state chairman, Alhaji Aliyu Mohammed Halidu, in a closely contested vote. Halidu secured 1,289 votes, narrowly defeating his opponent Yahaya Abdullahi, who received 1,260 votes.
