The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kebbi State, Nigeria, has re‑elected Alhaji Usman Bello‑Suru as its chairman, along with 38 other executives, for a four‑year term. The election took place at the State Delegates’ Congress and was described by congress chairman Dr. Mukhtar Lugga as “transparent, credible, and fair.” Delegates from all 21 local government areas participated, and the process was observed by officials from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and other party stakeholders. Dr. Lugga praised the delegates for their patience and orderliness throughout the exercise.

In his acceptance speech, Alhaji Bello‑Suru thanked party members for their confidence and pledged to reconcile aggrieved members while strengthening the party’s structures in Kebbi State and nationally. He outlined plans to build a robust grassroots network, stating, “We will follow the roadmap to strengthen the party structures and build a robust grassroots network.” The re‑elected chairman also vowed to work toward reclaiming power in the state, promising to serve the people of Kebbi with honesty and integrity.

Aminu Bande, the party’s 2023 governorship candidate, congratulated the newly elected executives and urged them to promote unity within the party. Among the re‑elected officials are Hussaini Abdullahi‑Raha as deputy chairman and Abubakar Bawa‑Kalgo as secretary. The election is seen as a significant development in Kebbi State’s political landscape, as the PDP seeks to revitalize its presence and prepare for future elections.

With the new leadership in place, the PDP in Kebbi State is expected to focus on rebuilding and strengthening its structures, aiming to regain power in the state.
