Phyna rages at Tinubu over Benue visit, sparks mixed reactions

Big Brother Naija reality star Phyna has accused the Dangote Group of negligence and insensitivity in the handling of her sister Ruth Otabor’s death and burial. She claims the company’s actions have deepened the family’s grief.

Phyna took to Instagram to say that, although the Dangote Group publicly announced it would cover medical and burial expenses, it failed to fully honor that commitment. According to her, the company only settled charges at Lagoon Hospital in Lagos, leaving the family to pay additional costs incurred from Auchi to Irrua. These bills, she said, were paid by the family without any refund from the company.

She further alleged that on the day of her sister’s burial, September 13, attempts to contact the Dangote Group were unsuccessful, despite the company’s claim that burial expenses had been paid. Phyna shared a letter the company sent to her father, which included an acknowledgment of receipt regarding burial expenses. She accused the company of impersonation, arguing that the family should have been asked to provide such a letter directly.

The reality star questioned the motives behind the company’s actions, suggesting a deliberate effort to control the narrative after the burial. She expressed disappointment that a corporation of the Dangote Group’s magnitude would resort to such tactics instead of treating her family with honesty and respect.

The allegations have raised concerns about corporate responsibility and sensitivity toward bereaved families, prompting many to await a response from the Dangote Group. As the situation unfolds, it remains to be seen how the company will address Phyna’s claims and what measures will be taken to prevent similar incidents in the future.
