Medina FC, a community‑based football team, has partnered with Dunas Hotel in a move aimed at promoting youth development and community engagement. According to Abdoulie Sanyang, finance chairman of Medina FC, the team represents the voice of the community and prioritises empowering young people. This partnership aligns with the principles of SESDO, a community‑development organisation, and reflects the team’s commitment to community development.

The partnership signing ceremony, held on Sunday, marked a significant milestone for Medina FC. Sanyang emphasized that the team is apolitical and focused on community development, citing initiatives such as cleansing exercises and other community activities. He added that the collaboration with Dunas Hotel is expected to create job opportunities for young people in Medina and provide financial support for the team.

President of SESDO, Modou Yusupha Cham, expressed pride in Medina FC, describing it as a benchmark for community engagement, peace, and football development. Cham commended Dunas Hotel for supporting the team, calling the decision wise. Omar Barrow, manager of Medina FC, welcomed the partnership, highlighting its importance for the team’s financial stability and community‑development initiatives.

The partnership is also expected to facilitate Medina FC’s registration in the Third Division League, enabling the team to compete throughout the year. With this support, Medina FC aims to continue promoting youth development and community engagement, reinforcing its position as a leading community‑based football team. The collaboration demonstrates the potential for private‑sector support in advancing community development and youth empowerment through sport, and Medina FC is poised to keep making a positive impact, fostering a culture of peace, development and social responsibility.
