The Grammy Guru, a platform that tracks Grammy Awards activity, has revealed a slate of submissions from Nigerian artists for the 2026 Grammy Awards. Leading the pack is Wizkid, who has entered multiple works: his album *Morayo* is up for Album of the Year and Best Global Album, while the songs “Piece of My Heart” and “Kese (Dance)” have been submitted for Record of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best Music Video, respectively.

Burna Boy has also put forward his album *No Sign of Weakness* for Album of the Year and Best Global Album. His track “Love” is being considered for Best African Music Performance, and his collaboration with Joé Dwèt Filé, “Kampé III,” is submitted for Best Global Music Performance.

Ayra Starr has entered “Hot Body” for Record of the Year and Song of the Year, and her joint effort with Wizkid, “Gimme Dat,” is a contender for Best African Music Performance and Best Music Video.

These submissions are part of the process that leads to the nominee announcement in November 2025. The Recording Academy, which oversees the Grammys, will vote on the entries to determine the final nominees. In a notable development for diversity and representation, Nigerian singer Davido has recently become a voting member of the Academy.

The Grammy Awards have long been a benchmark of excellence in the music industry, and the influx of Nigerian submissions reflects the country’s growing influence on the global stage. With the rise of Afrobeats and other African genres, Nigerian artists are making significant international waves, and these entries showcase their talent and dedication. As the music world awaits the nominee list, the Nigerian submissions have generated considerable buzz. The outcome of the voting will be closely watched, and the eventual nominees will be recognized for their outstanding contributions to music. The participation of Nigerian artists marks a significant milestone in the nation’s musical journey, highlighting the Grammys’ role as a platform for artistic expression and cultural exchange.
