Jandor Advises Jonathan Against 2027 Presidential Run

The Lagos State governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Dr Abdul-Azeez Adediran, has advised former President Goodluck Jonathan against contesting the 2027 presidential election. In an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria, Adediran, also known as Jandor, cautioned that Jonathan would be taking a significant political risk by running against President Bola Tinubu.

According to Adediran, those urging Jonathan to contest are misleading him, as Tinubu’s political expertise and experience make him a formidable opponent. Adediran pointed out that Tinubu had previously defeated Jonathan in the 2015 presidential election, and he believes this outcome would be repeated in 2027.

Adediran emphasized that Tinubu’s rise to the presidency was a result of his dedication and perseverance, whereas Jonathan’s path to the presidency was different. He suggested that Jonathan’s experience and popularity are not enough to guarantee a win against Tinubu, who has a strong political track record.

The Lagos4Lagos Movement leader urged Jonathan to remain in retirement, citing the potential risks and challenges of re-entering politics. Adediran’s comments come amid speculation about Jonathan’s potential candidacy in the 2027 presidential election. As the political landscape continues to evolve, it remains to be seen whether Jonathan will heed Adediran’s advice or consider a return to politics.

The 2027 presidential election is expected to be highly contested, with various candidates and parties likely to participate. As the election approaches, political leaders and stakeholders are weighing in on the potential candidates and their chances of success. Adediran’s comments add to the ongoing discussion about the election and the potential contenders.
