The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has restored bulk electricity supply to the Mando‑Kaduna 132‑kilovolt transmission line after a period of outages in Southern Kaduna. According to TCN spokesperson Ndidi Mbah, power was reinstated at 5:23 pm on 9 October 2025 following repairs to the collapsed Tower No. 7 in Rigasa Community, Kaduna State. The tower’s collapse had caused outages across parts of the state, especially in Southern Kaduna.
TCN’s engineering and maintenance teams repaired and reinforced the damaged tower, ensuring a safe and efficient restoration of bulk power transmission. The company thanked the affected electricity customers for their patience and cooperation, as well as the Kaduna Electricity Distribution Company for its support during the outage.
The incident stemmed from the collapse of TCN’s towers in Kaduna State Town Line I and II, also located in the Rigasa community, which disrupted the transmission line that supplies electricity to the region. TCN’s swift response and repair efforts helped minimize the disruption for customers in the area.
Restoring bulk electricity to the Mando‑Kaduna transmission line is a significant development, as it will alleviate challenges faced by residents and businesses in Southern Kaduna. TCN’s ongoing work to maintain and improve the country’s power transmission infrastructure is crucial for ensuring a stable and reliable electricity supply. As the company continues upgrading and reinforcing its transmission lines, customers can expect improved service and fewer outages in the future.
