Katsina State Governor, Dikko Umaru Radda, has undertaken a significant cabinet reshuffle, reassigning several commissioners to new roles and introducing two special advisers. The changes, announced by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Ibrahim Kaula Mohammed, take effect immediately.

As part of the reorganization, Hon. Adnan Nahabu assumes the position of Commissioner for Higher, Vocational and Technical Education. Professor Ahmad Muhammad Bakori will now lead the newly established Ministry of Livestock Development, having previously served in the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development. Hon. Aliyu Lawal Zakari has been transferred from the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development to the Ministry of Agriculture, while Hajiya Zainab Musa Musawa has been redeployed to the Ministry of Special Duties from Basic and Secondary Education.

Further changes include the appointment of Hon. Yusuf Suleiman Jibia as Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education and Engr. Surajo Yazid Abukur as Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development. Hajiya Aisha Aminu, formerly the Director-General of the Katsina State Enterprise Development Agency, has been appointed Commissioner for Women Affairs.

In addition to these changes, Governor Radda has approved the appointment of two new special advisers: Hajiya Hadiza Abubakar Yar’Adua, who will oversee Nutrition and Welfare Services, and Isa Muhammad Musa, who will be responsible for Cultural Orientation. The governor has congratulated the new appointees, emphasizing the importance of dedication and loyalty in their new roles. He encouraged them to view their appointments as opportunities to serve the state, rather than personal rewards, and to work towards achieving the state’s development goals.

The cabinet reshuffle is expected to bring new perspectives and expertise to key areas of the state’s administration. With these changes, the Katsina State government aims to enhance its service delivery and improve the overall well-being of its citizens. As the new appointees assume their roles, they will be expected to contribute to the state’s development agenda and work collaboratively to address the challenges facing the region.
