The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Nasarawa State is poised to emerge stronger and more united after its forthcoming national convention, according to party chairman Mr. Adamu Ninga. The convention, scheduled for November 15‑16 in Ibadan, Oyo State, will elect new national officers and chart a strategy for the 2027 general elections.
Ninga expressed optimism following an expanded meeting of the State Executive Council in Lafia, describing the convention as a significant milestone for the PDP. He said it will provide an opportunity to reinforce internal unity and reposition the party for electoral success at both national and state levels. The chairman emphasized that the party is more united and determined than ever to reclaim its position in Nigerian politics, particularly in Nasarawa State.
The convention will also serve as a platform to resolve internal disagreements and set a new course for the future. Ninga assured that, under his leadership, the party will ensure a level playing field for all members, especially those aspiring to elective offices in 2027. He pledged an inclusive leadership style that will give every member a sense of belonging.
Nasarawa State delegates are expected to conduct themselves responsibly at the convention and elect competent leaders capable of guiding the party to victory in 2027. Notably, each of the state’s 13 local government areas has been allotted four delegate slots for women, promoting gender representation and inclusivity.
The PDP’s national convention comes at a critical time as the party seeks to reposition itself for the 2027 elections. By focusing on internal unity and inclusivity, the PDP aims to boost its chances of electoral success. As the convention approaches, all eyes will be on the party to see whether it can indeed emerge stronger, more united, and ready to reclaim its place in Nigerian politics.
