Northern Nigerian leaders hail Tinubu on infrastructural developments

The Zamfara State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has thrown its weight behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s bid for a second term. The endorsement was made at a political gathering in Talata Mafara Local Government Area, led by Senator Abdulaziz Yari, the representative for Zamfara West. Senator Sahabi Ya’u of Zamfara North moved the motion to endorse President Tinubu, and it was seconded by Abdulmalik Zubairu, the House of Representatives member for Maru/Bungudu Federal Constituency.

In his address to party members, Senator Yari emphasized that the APC—both in Zamfara and nationally—has no better candidate than President Tinubu. He cited the president’s achievements over the past two years as the basis for the endorsement. The meeting, which focused on fostering party unity ahead of the 2027 general elections, was attended by a broad cross‑section of party stakeholders, including former deputy governors, current and former lawmakers, commissioners, and party executives.

President Tinubu’s administration has been in office since 2023, and the Zamfara chapter’s early endorsement signals confidence in his leadership and the party’s desire to build on the accomplishments of his first term. As political activity intensifies toward the 2027 elections—an electoral cycle expected to be pivotal with numerous parties and candidates contesting various offices—such endorsements will be closely watched by analysts and the public. They offer insight into the evolving political landscape and the strategies parties are adopting to secure victories.

The Zamfara State APC’s move to back President Tinubu for a second term reflects the ongoing political maneuvering in Nigeria as the country prepares for its next general elections. With the electoral process set to intensify in the coming months, endorsements like this will play a significant role in shaping the political narrative and influencing voter decisions.
