Troops of Operation HADIN KAI have recorded significant successes in their ongoing counter‑terrorism operations in Borno and Adamawa states. Between 25 and 31 October, they neutralized several terrorists, secured key locations, thwarted multiple attacks and destroyed logistics networks. Lt‑Col. Sani Uba, the operation’s Media Information Officer, said the forces have shown unwavering determination to keep pressure on terrorist groups and deny them freedom of action.

On 25 October, the troops foiled a terrorist attempt to attack Kukawa town with a vehicle‑borne improvised explosive device (VBIED). The explosive was destroyed by a T‑55 tank, and a 10‑year‑old girl who sustained minor injuries received prompt medical attention. In a separate operation, soldiers discovered and safely neutralized three improvised explosive devices (IEDs) along the Dikwa–Ajiri axis, preventing disruption of major supply routes.

On 29 October, an ambush in the Gwoza–Limankara area resulted in the neutralization of two terrorists and the recovery of bicycles and food items used for insurgent logistics. The same day, troops executed a successful night ambush along the Bama–Konduga main supply route, engaging terrorists attempting to move from the Gezuwa axis toward Sambisa Forest; the insurgents fled in disarray after coming under heavy fire.

Additional achievements include intercepting smugglers transporting a drum of premium motor spirit (PMS) and two motorcycles used for illegal movement in Adamawa, and arresting five suspected Boko Haram/ISWAP collaborators in Sabon Gari village, Madagali Local Government Area. The operation recovered a desert‑camouflage uniform, ammunition and Indian hemp.

The Air Component of Operation HADIN KAI provided close air support through precision strikes and intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) missions, enhancing ground troops’ effectiveness and battlefield awareness. The Military High Command has commended the troops for their gallantry, professionalism and commitment to restoring peace and stability in the North East. The military reaffirmed its dedication to the total defeat of terrorism and insurgency, with ongoing operations focused on dismantling terrorist cells, blocking supply routes and protecting vulnerable communities. These successes demonstrate the effectiveness of the military’s counter‑terrorism efforts and its commitment to the safety and security of civilians in the region.
