Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule has terminated the appointment of his Senior Special Adviser on Works, Ahmed Seriki, for failing to comply with directives that prohibit premature campaigning for the 2027 elections. The decision was announced by Peter Ahemba, the Governor’s Senior Special Adviser on Public Affairs, during a monthly briefing at the Nigeria Union of Journalists Centre in Lafia. According to Ahemba, Governor Sule repeatedly warned his appointees against engaging in early campaign activities, but Seriki allegedly ignored those warnings. His dismissal is also linked to his open support for former Inspector General of Police Mohammed Abubakar, who has signaled an interest in contesting the governorship seat in 2027.
In a separate development, Governor Sule has reaffirmed his commitment to completing the Karu flyovers and underpass project before the end of his tenure in 2027. The state government has secured Federal approval to construct two flyovers and an underpass in Mararaba, Karu Local Government Area. The project aims to provide a lasting solution to traffic congestion along the Karu‑Mararaba corridor, improving road quality and durability. Once completed, the flyovers and underpass are expected to ease movement for residents, motorists and travelers, reflecting the government’s broader effort to address infrastructure needs in the state.
The dismissal of Seriki and the announcement of the Karu flyovers project underscore Governor Sule’s focus on governance and development in Nasarawa State.
