Anambra election transparent and well organised says APGA chairman

The Anambra State governorship election, held on November 6, has been described as one of the most transparent and well-organized elections in the state’s history. Sly Ezeokenwa, National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for conducting a free, credible, and peaceful poll.

According to the official results announced by INEC, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, the APGA candidate, won the election with 422,664 votes. His closest rival, Chief Nicholas Ukachukwu of the All Progressives Congress (APC), secured 99,445 votes. The election’s Returning Officer, Professor Edogah Omoregie, declared Soludo the winner on Sunday in Awka.

Ezeokenwa praised INEC for ensuring transparency and fairness throughout the electoral process. He also appreciated the residents of Anambra State for their peaceful conduct and cooperation during the election, as well as the media for their professional reporting. The chairman noted that the state had never witnessed an election conducted as smoothly as the one on November 6.

The election was marked by a significant turnout of voters, with Soludo emerging victorious in the majority of the local government areas. The APC and other political parties have yet to react to the outcome of the election. The international community and local observers have hailed the election as a success, citing the transparency and credibility of the process.

The victory of Professor Soludo marks a new era for Anambra State, with the incoming governor expected to address the state’s pressing issues, including infrastructure development and economic growth. As the state prepares for the transition of power, the residents of Anambra are hopeful that the new administration will bring about positive change and development.

The successful conduct of the Anambra State governorship election is seen as a testament to the country’s growing democratic credentials. The election has set a high standard for future elections in Nigeria, with INEC’s performance being hailed as a model for other electoral bodies in the region. As the country continues to consolidate its democratic gains, the Anambra State governorship election will be remembered as a milestone in the country’s electoral history.
