Two brothers, Siyabonga and Malusi Ndimande, have been formally charged in connection with the high‑profile killings of South African rapper Kiernan “AKA” Forbes and businessman Tebello “Tibz” Motsoane in Durban. The extradition of the brothers from Eswatini to South Africa marks a significant development in a case that has attracted intense media attention and public interest.
The Ndimande brothers face a total of 20 charges, including murder, attempted murder, conspiracy to commit murder, and firearms offenses. These charges also relate to other violent crimes, such as the murder of a taxi boss in Amanzimtoti, near Durban. Additional charges linked to separate cases of murder and attempted murder were confirmed in court.
The extradition process was facilitated by Interpol officials from both South Africa and Eswatini, with the handover taking place at King Shaka International Airport on 11 November 2025. After their arrival, the brothers were transported under heavy security to Durban Central Police Station, escorted by police units and monitored by a police helicopter. They appeared in the Durban Magistrate’s Court on the same day, where it was announced that they will stand trial alongside five other co‑accused for the murders of AKA and Tibz.
Police praised the collaborative efforts of South African and Eswatini authorities, the National Prosecuting Authority, and Interpol for securing the extradition and bringing the suspects to justice. The Ndimande brothers are due to return to court on 25 November for further proceedings.
The successful extradition and charging of the suspects highlight the importance of cross‑border cooperation in tackling organized crime, especially in cases that have a significant regional impact. The investigation into the murders of AKA and Tibz has been ongoing since February 2023, during which six suspects linked to the case were arrested. The case continues to draw widespread attention and calls for justice, and the trial will focus on ensuring that those responsible for the tragic events are held accountable.
