2027: Tinubu has nothing to fear, can’t be defeated - APC Chair Yilwatda

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Plateau State is gearing up to challenge the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2027 governorship election, according to Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, the party’s National Chairman. Speaking in Jos, Yilwatda expressed confidence that the APC is prepared to win, citing the growing number of defectors from other parties as a sign of increasing confidence in the APC’s direction and leadership.

The reception of new defectors from the PDP, Labour Party, PRP and NNPP provided Yilwatda an opportunity to highlight the party’s reorganisation efforts. These include restructuring its internal structures, expanding membership and strengthening cooperation across all levels in the state. He emphasized that the APC is not only targeting legislative seats but is also determined to capture the governorship.

According to Yilwatda, the influx of new members demonstrates the party’s appeal and the growing belief in its vision. He urged party members to remain focused, united and active in grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 election, adding that the APC will continue to welcome newcomers ready to contribute to its success.

The APC’s efforts to strengthen its presence in Plateau State form part of a broader strategy to increase its regional influence. With the 2027 election approaching, the party is poised to intensify its campaign, leveraging its reorganised structures and expanded membership to challenge the PDP’s dominance. As the political landscape in Plateau State evolves, the APC’s determination to take over the governorship is likely to shape the election narrative, while its ability to attract defectors and focus on grassroots mobilisation may ultimately influence the outcome. The contest between the APC and PDP is expected to be fierce, making the 2027 governorship election in Plateau State a closely watched event.
