Stakeholders of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Kano state have formally endorsed President Tinubu as the party’s candidate for the 2027 presidential election. The endorsement was made by representatives from the state’s 484 wards and 44 local governments. Former APC National Chairman Umar Ganduje said the meeting focused on fostering unity and solidarity within the party and the federal government under President Tinubu.
Over three days, the stakeholders consulted with local government chairmen and other party leaders, stressing the importance of committing to the President’s “Renewed Hopes Agenda.” Ganduje expressed confidence that the APC will win all elections in Kano, the broader northern region, and Nigeria as a whole in 2027. He also highlighted the need for party offices to be physically accessible and functional to facilitate the registration of new members from other parties.
The discussions addressed electronic registration, noting that computers have been procured to begin the process. Ganduje pointed out that Kano has a history of producing a high number of registered party members, a trend the APC aims to sustain. To promote unity, party executives at all levels have been instructed to declare President Tinubu as the APC’s candidate for the 2027 election—a strategic step intended to secure the party’s success.
These endorsements and deliberations come as the country prepares for the 2027 general elections. With the APC seeking to maintain its stronghold in Kano and the northern region, the stakeholders’ support for President Tinubu is expected to play a significant role in the party’s campaign strategy. Observers and analysts will closely watch the APC’s efforts to foster unity and solidarity as the political landscape evolves.
