Everton manager Sean Dyche has downplayed reports that midfielder Alex Iwobi is unhappy at Goodison Park. Turkish media have claimed the Nigerian is discontent and that Fenerbahçe are interested in signing him on loan until the end of the season, with coach Jorge Jesus praising Iwobi’s versatility and urging the club to sanction the deal. A Spor reported, “Fenerbahçe has stepped in for Iwobi, who plays for Everton, one of the Premier League teams.”

However, speaking at his pre‑match press conference before the Sunday trip to Nottingham Forest, Dyche said he sees no sign of unhappiness at Finch Farm. “I’ve seen him today and he seems quite happy,” he said. “I can only go off what my eyes are telling me and what my gut is telling me. I think it’s unlikely, I’d suggest.”

Iwobi has been a regular for the Toffees this season, making 29 appearances and scoring once. Since Dyche took charge, the Nigeria international has started every game. Former manager Frank Lampard previously confirmed that contract talks were underway. Iwobi has 18 months left on his current deal, and a new three‑and‑a‑half‑year contract would keep him at Everton until 2026. The proposed agreement would raise his weekly wage from £70,000 to £100,000.
