The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Adamawa State has launched an electronic registration project to bolster its membership and improve party management. At a meeting in Yola on Monday, party leaders set a target of recruiting 200,000 new members within the first month of the registration exercise. The gathering included local government chairmen, party officials, and prominent members from across the state.
Adamawa State APC Secretary Dr. Raymond Chidama said the digital registration system will revolutionize the party’s approach to membership management. “This digital system will help us accurately identify our members and extend opportunities to the right people,” he explained. State APC Organizing Secretary and coordinator of the e‑registration exercise, Mustapha Ribadu, emphasized the initiative’s necessity, citing a review of the party’s voting performance against its membership claims. The revalidation and upgrade of the membership register are expected to rebuild the party on a foundation of credibility and accuracy.
Prominent party member and governorship hopeful Abdulrahman Haske also spoke, expressing optimism about the party’s prospects in the 2027 elections. “We will take back Adamawa State,” he said, attributing the party’s losses in 2019 and 2023 to internal divisions. Haske asserted that the party is now on a winning trajectory after addressing those internal issues.
The e‑registration project is seen as a key step in strengthening the APC’s presence in Adamawa State. By focusing on accuracy and credibility, the party aims to rebuild its membership base and enhance its electoral chances. The success of this initiative will be crucial in determining the party’s fortunes in future elections, particularly as it prepares for the 2027 contest.
