The Ogun State Ministry of Justice has announced plans to prosecute Ademola Abiodun, a popular TikTok content creator known as DJ Chicken, after a series of traffic accidents raised concerns about public safety. The decision follows a crash in Sagamu, Ogun State, on 1 November 2025, in which Abiodun critically injured a motorcycle rider and a female passenger. Eyewitnesses say he attempted to flee the scene before onlookers stopped him.
This incident is not isolated. The ministry noted that DJ Chicken was involved in another crash on a Sunday in Lekki, Lagos State, where he narrowly avoided hitting pedestrians. It was his third road crash in two months, prompting scrutiny of his driving habits. The Ogun State Ministry of Justice said Abiodun’s actions demonstrate a disregard for public safety, making state intervention necessary.
While compensation for crash victims is essential, the ministry emphasized that some road users pose a significant danger to society and should be held accountable under criminal law. Attorney‑General and Commissioner for Justice Oluwasina Ogungbade has instructed relevant officers to expedite the pending Sagamu case for a prompt arraignment. The ministry reaffirmed its commitment to working with law‑enforcement agencies to protect the public from reckless drivers.
The decision to prosecute Abiodun underscores the need for accountability and stronger road‑safety measures. As the case progresses, the ministry’s efforts to guarantee public safety and enforce traffic laws will be closely monitored. The prosecution of DJ Chicken serves as a reminder of the importance of responsible driving and the consequences of reckless behavior on the road.
