Senator Suleiman Hunkuyi, the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) governorship candidate in Kaduna State, warned residents against money politics ahead of the March 11 election. Speaking to journalists in Kaduna on Saturday, he also cautioned that the state faced a “dire political miscarriage” as the poll approached.
Hunkuyi highlighted two major concerns. First, a pre‑election court case could potentially disqualify the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from the ballot. Second, the All Progressives Congress (APC) is prepared to file post‑election challenges against the PDP.
The former senator, who represented the Northern Kaduna senatorial district, condemned the use of money politics, alleging that the ruling party intends to deploy it in the upcoming election. He described this practice as anti‑people, anti‑democratic, and an “intended onslaught” against democracy in the state.
