The All Progressives Congress has expressed solidarity with the government and people of Niger State after pupils were abducted from St. Mary’s School in Agwara Local Government Area. National Chairman Nentawe Yilwatda conveyed the party’s support during a sympathy visit to Governor Mohammed Umaru‑Bago at the Government House in Minna. He condemned the rising cases of kidnapping nationwide, especially the recent surge, and said the party’s “hearts are heavy,” standing with the state government and its people during this challenging period.
Yilwatda praised the efforts of security agencies and the measures directed by President Bola Tinubu, noting that they were yielding positive results. He prayed for the safe and speedy recovery of the abducted pupils and commended Governor Umaru‑Bago for his developmental strides and promotion of religious tolerance in the state, emphasizing that religious harmony is essential for the nation at this critical time.
In response, Governor Umaru‑Bago thanked the APC national chairman and members of the National Working Committee for their visit, describing it as a demonstration of unity and brotherhood within the party. He called for continued prayers for the safe return of the missing children and for sustainable peace in the state and the country. The governor reiterated Niger State’s commitment to peaceful coexistence regardless of religious differences, noting that the state draws strength from its diversity.
