Nigeria Military Can Tackle Insecurity Says ZLP Chairman

The National Chairman of the Zenith Labour Party, Dan Nwanyanwu, has expressed confidence in the Nigerian military’s ability to tackle the country’s insecurity challenges. In a recent interview on Channels Television’s ‘Politics Today’ programme, Nwanyanwu stated that combating terrorism and banditry is a relatively simple task for the military.

Nwanyanwu cited the Nigerian military’s successful participation in peacekeeping missions across Africa as evidence of its capacity to address the country’s security issues. He noted that the Nigerian Army has been involved in more complex conflicts outside the country, suggesting that it has the necessary experience and expertise to deal with the current security challenges.

The Zenith Labour Party chairman likened the task of flushing out terrorism to a simple breakfast meal, “akamu” or pap, implying that it is a manageable task for the military. Nwanyanwu emphasized that the military’s success in external missions demonstrates its ability to handle internal security threats.

Nwanyanwu’s comments come as Nigeria continues to grapple with insecurity issues, including terrorism, banditry, and kidnapping. The country’s military has been working to combat these threats, with varying degrees of success. The Nigerian government has also been exploring other approaches to addressing the root causes of insecurity, including economic development and social programs.

The Zenith Labour Party chairman’s comments highlight the importance of confidence in the military’s ability to tackle insecurity. As Nigeria works to address its security challenges, the role of the military will be critical. Nwanyanwu’s statement suggests that the military has the capacity to make a significant impact in combating terrorism and banditry, and that it is essential to support its efforts to ensure the country’s security and stability.
