Taraba governor, Kefas receives APC membership card

Governor Agbu Kefas of Taraba State officially joined the All Progressives Congress (APC) after receiving his membership card on Sunday. The card was presented by Umaru Tanko, Chairman of the APC Hospital Ward in Wukari Local Government Area, during a brief ceremony at the TY Danjuma House in Jalingo. With this registration, Kefas has validated his status as a party member, enabling him to participate fully in all APC activities.

The Commissioner for Information and Reorientation, Barrister Zainab Usman Jalingo, confirmed the governor’s registration, stating that Kefas is now a full‑fledged member of the APC in Taraba State. As a result, he has assumed leadership of the party in the state, and the APC formally welcomed him, with Tanko describing the governor as a bona‑fide member.

Kefas disclosed that the official defection ceremony, which had been postponed, will be rescheduled and held in the near future. The upcoming ceremony is expected to be a significant event, marking his formal transition to the APC and providing an opportunity for the party to showcase its strength, unity, and Kefas’s commitment to his new political affiliation.

This development marks a notable shift in Taraba State’s political landscape. Kefas’s membership is anticipated to influence the state’s political dynamics, and the APC’s acceptance of him is seen as a strategic move to strengthen its presence in the region. Political observers and analysts will closely watch the implications of his entry into the party as the state’s political environment continues to evolve.
