The All Progressives Congress (APC) Leaders’ Forum in Obokun Local Government Area of Osun State has called for unity among party members ahead of the August 8, 2026 gubernatorial election. In a communiqué issued by co‑conveners Olatunbosun Oyintiloye and Tunji Adesokun, the Forum stressed that a unified front is essential for the party’s candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, to win the election without undue stress. Describing Oyebamiji as a loyal, committed and experienced politician, the statement emphasized that his victory depends on the unity of purpose among party members.
The Forum appealed to party leaders at both state and national levels to work toward reconciling all interests and opinions within the APC to ensure success. As the election approaches, it urged leaders to prevent internal sabotage and to present the party as a cohesive group at the polls. While the selection of Oyebamiji as the candidate has simplified the task, the Forum warned that leaders must still strive to bring all members together. It affirmed its full alignment with Oyebamiji’s candidacy and pledged to mobilize grassroots support for his victory.
Reiterating an earlier agreement among APC leaders in the local government area, the Forum called on members to set aside allegiance to other aspirants once the party produces a candidate. It commended party officials for conducting a peaceful primary election in the state and urged them to reconcile any aggrieved members for the party’s benefit. According to the Forum, the electorate is yearning for the return of the APC in Osun State, but party members must avoid divisive tendencies. With dedication and unity, the Forum believes the party’s victory at the poll will be more attainable.
Finally, the Forum praised key party stakeholders—including President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, National Chairman Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, and National Leader Chief Bisi Akande—for their commitment to the party’s growth. Other notable figures commended were Minister of Marine and Blue Economy Alhaji Adegboyega Oyetola, National Secretary Senator Ajibola Basiru, and State Party Chairman Sooko Tajudeen Lawal. As the APC prepares for the gubernatorial election, the call for unity among party members is seen as crucial to the party’s success, improving its chances of winning and returning to power in the state.
