The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has stepped up security measures in Bauchi State ahead of the 2025 Christmas and New Year festivities. State Commandant Oloyede Oyerinde announced that 1,100 personnel have been deployed across the state to safeguard lives and property during the holiday period. The security arrangement combines covert and overt operations aimed at preventing criminal activities and protecting critical national assets and infrastructure.

Personnel will be strategically stationed at worship centres, motor parks, eateries, banks, hotels, and other public places to maintain law and order. Joint patrols of identified flashpoints will also be conducted to deter potential threats. Commandant Oyerinde has instructed Area Commanders, Divisional Officers, and other operatives to remain diligent and professional in the discharge of their duties, emphasizing the need for officers and men to be proactive and vigilant to ensure a peaceful, hitch‑free festive season.

Residents have been advised to avoid actions that could breach public peace and to promptly report any suspicious movements or activities to the nearest NSCDC office for swift response. The NSCDC Bauchi State Command is working in synergy with other security agencies to maintain law and order throughout the festivities. The Commandant reassured residents that adequate security coverage is in place, reaffirming the Corps’ commitment to protecting lives and property.

As part of the enhanced security measures, personnel will intensify patrols and maintain effective control of public spaces before, during, and after the celebrations. This proactive deployment of 1,100 officers demonstrates the NSCDC’s dedication to preventing security breaches and ensuring a safe environment for residents and visitors in Bauchi State during the festive season.
