Kwara Police Deploys Robust Security Measures For Christmas

As Christmas celebrations approach, the Kwara State Police Command has intensified security measures to ensure public safety during the festive period. Commissioner of Police Adekimi Ojo has directed the implementation of robust security arrangements across the state, focusing on protecting lives and property.

According to a statement by the command’s spokesperson, SP Adetoun Ejire Adeyemi, the police have deployed personnel strategically across the state, demonstrating their commitment to maintaining public safety and confidence. This move is in line with the Nigeria Police Force’s nationwide security plan for the Yuletide season, as outlined by Inspector-General of Police Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun.

The security measures include increased visibility policing, intelligence-led patrols, and targeted operations in areas such as places of worship, markets, recreational centers, motor parks, highways, and other public spaces. Tactical and specialized units have been placed on high alert, with ongoing surveillance and raids in identified hotspots and flashpoints.

To ensure a safe and enjoyable celebration, deployed officers have been instructed to maintain professionalism, firmness, and courtesy in their duties. The police command has also urged the public to remain vigilant, celebrate responsibly, and report any suspicious activity to the nearest police station or through the command’s control room numbers.

As the festive season approaches, the Kwara State Police Command’s proactive security measures aim to prevent crime and ensure a peaceful celebration for residents and visitors. The command’s efforts to sustain public safety and confidence are crucial during this period, and the public’s cooperation is essential in maintaining a secure environment. By working together, the police and the community can help prevent incidents and ensure a joyful Christmas celebration.
