I'm ready to step aside for new leader - Kebbi ADC chairperson welcomes coalition

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) issued a Christmas message urging Nigerians to prioritize unity, compassion, and resilience amid the nation’s economic and security challenges. In a statement released by National Publicity Secretary Bolaji Abdullahi, the party acknowledged the difficulties many face during the festive season, including rising food prices, insecurity, and uncertainty about the country’s future. Despite these hardships, the ADC sees Christmas as an opportunity for Nigerians to come together and celebrate their collective strength.

The party emphasized that Nigeria’s greatest asset lies in the resilience and solidarity of its people, which transcend religious and ethnic divides. Overcoming current challenges, the ADC argued, depends on citizens’ commitment to one another. It also remembered the victims of the recent Christmas‑Eve bombing at a mosque in Borno State, calling for prayers for the affected families and communities. This tragedy serves as a stark reminder that the nation’s security situation impacts everyone, regardless of background or faith.

The ADC appealed for prayers and appreciation for security personnel and health workers who continue to serve the country during the festive period, often at the cost of time with their own families. It urged Nigerians to pray for divine intervention to end suffering and to bring compassionate leadership—leadership guided by empathy, conscience, and genuine concern for citizens’ welfare.

As Nigerians celebrate Christmas and look toward the new year, the party wished them a merry Christmas and a blessed New Year. The message arrives at a time when Nigeria grapples with economic stagnation, insecurity, and social unrest. By emphasizing unity, compassion, and resilience, the ADC underscores the importance of collective action and solidarity in addressing these challenges and calls on Nigerians to prioritize shared values as they work toward a more stable and prosperous future.
