Fulani bandits attack alert issued for Plateau State communities Saturday

A security alert has been issued by Judd Saul, Executive Director of Equipping the Persecuted, a US-based humanitarian organization, warning of a potential attack by Fulani bandits on communities in Plateau State, Nigeria. The alert, posted on his verified social media account, specifies that the bandits are planning to strike on Saturday, December 27th, particularly at midnight, targeting areas such as Kara-Bisichi, Rassa, and Mararaban Foron of Foron District in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area, as well as Latyi of Du District and Kuru in Jos South LGA.

According to Saul, whose organization provides support to persecuted Christians in Nigeria, the bandits had initially planned simultaneous attacks on these communities on Friday, December 26th, but postponed them to December 27th. He emphasized that people in these communities and surrounding areas should be on high alert, especially at midnight, due to the planned massive attack by Fulani bandits and terrorists.

This is not the first time Saul has raised concerns about potential attacks in Plateau State. On December 14th, he warned of planned Christmas Day attacks in several communities, including Riyom, Bokkos, and Barkin Ladi local government areas. However, his warnings were reportedly dismissed by Nigerian authorities and security agencies, who accused him of being a liar and an alarmist.

Saul’s organization has been monitoring the situation in Plateau State, where attacks by Fulani bandits and terrorists have been a recurring concern. The region has experienced a surge in violence in recent years, with many communities affected by the attacks. The Nigerian government has been working to address the issue, but the situation remains volatile.

The latest security alert highlights the need for continued vigilance and cooperation between communities and security agencies to prevent such attacks. As the situation unfolds, it is essential for authorities to take proactive measures to protect vulnerable communities and prevent further violence. The international community is also being urged to take notice of the situation in Plateau State and provide support to those affected by the violence.
