Wike Claims Political Strength to Deliver Election Victories

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, stressed the strength and organization of his political base, claiming it can deliver any chosen candidate in elections. He made these remarks while meeting supporters and allies in Rivers State’s Etche and Omuma Local Government Areas. Wike highlighted his and his supporters’ role in securing President Bola Tinubu’s victory in Rivers State during the 2023 general elections. In addition to the presidential win, he noted that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) captured all elective positions in both national and state assemblies, as well as the governorship, underscoring his camp’s ability to mobilize and win at the polls.

In the context of Rivers State politics, Wike urged his supporters in Omuma LGA to follow the guidance of Kelechi Nwogu, aligning with Nwogu’s political stance. Nwogu, the member representing the Etche/Omuma Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, declared that if Governor Siminalayi Fubara seeks re‑election, Omuma will not back him.
