The Nigerian Army announced a significant victory in its ongoing campaign against insurgents, reporting the killing of approximately 47 terrorists in operations across the country. The statement, posted on the army’s official Facebook page on Tuesday night, detailed the results of actions carried out over the previous 72 hours. In addition to the fatalities, the forces arrested 19 suspects and rescued more than 30 kidnapped individuals. A substantial cache of arms, ammunition and other logistics was also recovered, underscoring the effectiveness of the coordinated land and air operations.

The military’s efforts were concentrated in the North West and North Central regions, where troops conducted aggressive ground operations based on credible intelligence, leading to the neutralisation of terrorist elements. The scope of the operation extended beyond these areas, with activities reported in Zamfara, Kaduna, the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja and the South‑South. This comprehensive approach highlights the army’s commitment to addressing the security challenges facing the nation.

The recovery of weapons and logistical supplies is expected to disrupt the operational capacity of the terrorist groups, while the rescue of kidnapping victims and the arrest of suspects should bring relief to affected communities. The campaign forms part of a broader strategy to enhance security and stability in Nigeria. As the situation evolves, the army’s ability to adapt and respond effectively will be crucial to achieving its objectives.

With these recent successes, the military has reinforced its determination to protect citizens and territory from the threats posed by terrorist groups. Ongoing operations are expected to continue, building on the latest gains and consolidating the army’s position against the insurgents.
