The All Progressives Congress governorship candidate in Oyo State, Senator Folarin Teslim, has called on the Nigeria Police Force to investigate the circumstances surrounding the killing of a young man who was allegedly wearing a cloth bearing his picture. He made the appeal through a statement issued by his media aide, Yekeen Olaniyi, on Sunday in Ibadan, responding to a viral video that shows the murder of the young man by suspected hoodlums.
Folarin urged the police to interrogate those responsible for the video, identify the perpetrators of the killing, and ensure that justice is served. He questioned the sensibility of using someone’s shirt to commit such a gruesome crime and warned that those who kill innocent people cannot escape divine retribution, noting that the victims also leave behind families.
The candidate expressed confidence that the police would, within a few days, uncover the individuals behind the murder and the circulation of the video. He also called on the people of the state to remain vigilant in the lead‑up to the upcoming governorship election. The state command of the Nigeria Police has not yet responded to the incident.
