Labour Party Recognizes Alex Otti as National Leader

The Labour Party in Nigeria has formally acknowledged Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, as its national leader. This development follows a meeting of the party’s National Working Committee, where the decision was unanimously made. According to a communique issued by the party’s National Secretary, Darlington Nwokocha, the recognition of Governor Otti is part of the party’s efforts to stabilize and strategically direct its growth.

The party also extended its best wishes to former presidential candidate, Peter Obi, who recently joined the African Democratic Congress. The Labour Party expressed its appreciation for Obi’s past contributions and wished him success in his future endeavors. Furthermore, the party announced the recognition of former Finance Minister, Nenadi Usman, as its new National Chairman, in line with a Supreme Court judgment that ruled the tenure of Julius Abure as National Chairman had expired.

The Labour Party has urged the Independent National Electoral Commission to recognize Usman and Nwokocha as the legitimate leaders, in accordance with the court’s decision. The party emphasized its commitment to adhering to its constitution and ensuring that all congresses and national conventions are conducted in a fair and transparent manner. Members have been encouraged to participate actively in these processes, which are crucial for the party’s growth and stability.

The Labour Party has expressed its gratitude to its members and the Nigerian public for their continued support and confidence. Despite recent changes, the party remains united and steadfast in its mission to promote equal opportunity, social justice, and good governance in Nigeria. As the party moves forward, it is expected to continue playing a significant role in the country’s political landscape. With its new leadership in place, the Labour Party is poised to build on its strengths and work towards a more equitable and just society for all Nigerians.
