APC Expects 9 Million Registered Members Within Two Weeks

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has expressed confidence that its ongoing digital membership registration exercise will yield a significant increase in registered members. According to the party’s National Chairman, Prof Nentawe Yilwatda, the exercise is expected to surpass 9 million registered members within the first two weeks.

During a press briefing on Monday, the National Secretary of the party, Ajibola Basiru, disclosed that over 2 million Nigerians had already completed registration in just the first week. This development underscores the party’s commitment to enhancing its operational efficiency through accurate data collection. Basiru emphasized the importance of reliable data in this regard, stating that it will facilitate informed decision-making and strengthen the party’s structures.

The APC’s digital membership registration exercise is a nationwide effort aimed at bolstering the party’s membership base and improving its internal processes. The exercise has been designed to ensure transparency, accountability, and inclusivity, with a view to positioning the party for greater success in future elections. With over 2 million registrations recorded in the first week, the party is optimistic about meeting its target of 8-9 million registered members by the end of the second week.

To ensure the exercise’s success, the National Working Committee (NWC) has been empowered to take corrective measures in states that are lagging behind. This includes the possibility of changing the coordinator of such states to inject fresh momentum into the registration process. As the exercise continues to gather pace, the APC is poised to emerge stronger and more resilient, with a renewed focus on grassroots engagement and participatory democracy. The party’s leadership will likely provide further updates on the registration exercise in the coming weeks, as the APC seeks to consolidate its position as a major force in Nigerian politics.
