Ganduje urges aspirants to step aside for Kano Governor Abba Yusuf

Former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, has urged all governorship aspirants in Kano State to step aside and allow Governor Abba Yusuf to complete his two terms in office. This call was made on Monday during a ceremony held at the Government House in Kano, where Governor Yusuf was formally received into the APC.

Governor Yusuf’s decision to defect to the APC has been commended by Dr. Ganduje, who praised the governor for putting the interests of Kano State above all else. Dr. Ganduje expressed confidence that Governor Yusuf would win the 2027 election with a landslide margin, citing the willingness of other aspirants to step aside.

The former national chairman welcomed Governor Yusuf back to the APC, noting that the governor’s return marked a significant occasion for the party. He highlighted Governor Yusuf’s progressive policies and implementation, which align with the APC’s values. Dr. Ganduje also emphasized that Governor Yusuf’s return has put to rest speculations about party leadership in Kano, declaring the governor as the leader of the party in the state.

Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau Jibrin, also commended Governor Yusuf for his decision to return to the APC, describing it as a courageous move. Senator Jibrin expressed confidence that Governor Yusuf’s decision would have a lasting impact.

The development is seen as a significant boost to the APC in Kano State, with Governor Yusuf’s return expected to strengthen the party’s position in the region. Dr. Ganduje also praised President Tinubu, describing him as a true Nigerian who treats citizens equally, regardless of their religion or ethnicity. The former national chairman expressed confidence that Governor Yusuf would emerge victorious in the 2027 election.
