Osinbajo at 66: Buhari marvels how VP combines pastoral, governance roles seamlessly

President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday, described his deputy, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo as a worthy role model for the younger generation to emulate, going by how he has effectively managed his pastoral calling with governance.

Buhari poured encomiums on the VP on the occasion of his 66th birthday celebration, marked on March 8.

Buhari in a message through his media aide, Femi Adesina, felicitated with the entire Osinbajo family, wishing them many happy returns, especially as the number two citizen turned 66 in good health and sound mind.

The President went down memory lane to recall how Osinbajo has distinguished himself in sterling leadership qualities, recalling his career stints as an academic, Attorney-General of Lagos State (1997-2007), and Vice President (2015 till date).

He wondered how Osinbajo, a pastor with the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), has combined scholarship with governance, and pastoral work.

“Such dedication to the younger generation whom the Number 2 man serves as a torchbearer is worthy of emulation”.

Osinbajo, elected Vice President alongside Buhari in 2015 and 2019 have enjoyed cordial relationship with his principal till date.

On several occasions, Buhari have had course to commend his Vice for supportive roles he gives to the All Progressive Congress led administration.
